Taman Nusa – cultural park of Indonesian architecture
Don’t have time to visit the whole of the Indonesian
? Then visit Taman Nusa in Bali to see traditional Indonesian architecture from all over the region.
The cultural park of Taman Nusa is only 45 minutes drive from our dive centre in Sanur and is set on 15 hectares of land with a lush green forest backdrop, with waterfalls and rice terraces. Sited here are more than 60 traditional Indonesian houses some of which are hundreds of years old, some are replicas from all round the different tribal areas of Indonesia. The park covers Sulawesi, Papua, Java, Sumatra, Bima, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, right through to Aceh.
Scattered amongst this display of traditional Indonesian architecture are displays of traditional music, dancing, weaving and puppet shows. There is a museum of puppets and textiles and even a miniature replica of the temple at Borobudour.
The cultural park offers different packages depending on your tastes and budget, these can include being photographed in traditional dress or watching a Barong dance. You will never go hungry or thirsty as there are 7 cafeterias and 2 restaurants. Included is a very tasty 3 course lunch.
Bali has such a diverse range of activities to offer visitors and this Cultural Park is just one of them. To find out more about the range of activities available, check out Diving Indo’s Land Tours.
